Do not take this product if you use antidepressants or other serotonergic medication. Methylene blue is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor. Combining it with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, tricyclic antidepressants, triptans, tramadol, lithium, St John's Wort or other serotonergic drugs can cause serotonin syndrome, which is a medical emergency. If you take any of these, do not use this product without clearing it with your prescriber first.

Do not take this product if you have G6PD deficiency. Methylene blue can trigger the destruction of red blood cells (haemolysis) in people with this condition. It should also be avoided by anyone with a known methemoglobinemia risk.

Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or by anyone under 18.

Expect blue or green discolouration of urine, and sometimes stool or the whites of the eyes. This is a normal and harmless effect of the dye and is not a cause for concern.

Do not exceed the recommended serving. Higher doses do not improve the effect and increase risk.

Stop taking it and seek medical advice if you experience confusion, agitation, rapid heartbeat, high temperature, muscle rigidity, shivering, sweating or shortness of breath.
